hannah Benes
Hannah joined Best Friends in 2000 - our longest-term employee! She has loved dogs her entire life, and has done wonders with her Golden Retrievers in Agility, Tricks, and now K9 Nose Work.
Best Friends was her very first job, and she couldn’t imagine working anywhere else. She loves all the dogs, and loves and enjoys being able to interact with all different kinds of breeds, ages, and personalities.

Kesa Duffey
Kesa has been part of the Best Friends family since 2017, but has been working with dogs for most of her life. A Montana transplant, Kesa has been an active volunteer with humane societies, and is currently involved with several rescue organizations in the Pacific Northwest.
Her “soft spot” for boxers and “bully breeds” shines through her personal dogs - she always has one of her own boxers and regularly provides foster care for boxers in need.
Kesa enjoys hiking with her dogs and spending time on the Oregon coast.
“My dogs have made me a better person. Dogs love us in all our imperfections and through this we learn to love and accept ourselves.”
Alana Clearo
Alana joined Best Friends in 2023 after many years volunteering with horses, working in a “human” daycare and walking dogs.
Missing her own family dogs, she treats the daycare dogs as her own. Alana can often be found teaching creative tricks or snuggling with daycare dogs.
“I love seeing the progress and growth that can develop with training over time. The constant joy that many dogs radiate is contagious.”
