Puppy Kindergarten and Beginner Obedience
Puppy Kindergarten is for all puppies up to about 6 months of age (exceptions can be made for older small dogs that are timid and may be more comfortable in the puppy class).
In these classes we introduce a range of behaviors including wait, stay, sit, down, walking on a loose leash, “come,” jumping up, food manners and more! We also devote time to specific puppy behaviors - such as crate training, potty training, socialization, and puppy handling.
Your puppy must have received its first 2 sets of DHPP vaccines (the most current from a veterinarian) and a Bordetella vaccine (for kennel cough). We recommend speaking to your veterinarian about the Canine Influenza vaccine.
Beginner Obedience is appropriate for all dogs over 6 months of age (unless you have already completed Puppy Kindergarten or its equivalent).
In this class we focus on learning, then building duration on, sit, stay, down, wait, loose leash walking, food manners, jumping up, attention, “come,” and more as individual needs arise.
Your dog must be current on all vaccinations - given by a licensed veterinarian. These include Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella (kennel cough). We recommend speaking to your veterinarian about the Canine Influenza vaccine.
Our classes meet once a week for 6 weeks. The first class is an orientation without the dog.
