Nina Feltmann

Dogs have been a part of Nina's world almost her entire life.  In 1985 Nina and her husband adopted their first puppy from Heartland Humane Society.  Oreo, a lab-border collie mix, opened up new interests in understanding and training dogs for both.

In 1987, Nina became the leader for Benton County's 4-H Guide Dog Project.  Over the next 12 years, she received training from Guide Dogs for the Blind and assisted families as they raised the pups to become well behaved companions, wiling to learn and well socialized to the world around them.  Nina and her husband raised five German Shepard Dog puppies for the program and puppy-sat most of the club's 100+ guide dog puppies in their home.  When one of their guide dog pups was career changed in 1991, he became a permanent member of the family.  Nina took her first obedience class from Dana with that dog.

Nina loves puppies and truly enjoys helping people train these bundles of energy and joy, turning them into wonderful family companions and active learners.

Nina and her black GSD, Baron, joined Best Friends in February of 2004 as staff in the Doggy Daycare.  Her love of puppies and training quickly drew her to begin assisting in Puppy Kindergarten and Beginning Obedience classes, where her own training knowledge continues to expand under the guidance of Dana Stillinger and Linda Grace.
