Pre-Requisite: Beginner Obedience or Equivalent The purpose of this class
is to aid your dog in being a respected member of the community. We will teach, practice and proof The 10 exercises included in the AKC C.G.C.
program. Accepting a friendly stranger Sitting politely for
petting Appearance and Grooming Walking on a Loose Lead Walking through a Crowd Sit and Down on command and Staying in Place Coming when Called Reacting Politely to another Dog Confidence with Distracting Situations Supervised Separation The training is fun and useful
and through it, you and your dog will establish a closer relationship and
bond.
At the conclusion of the class,
everyone will have an opportunity to take and pass the Canine Good Citizen
certification exam. This test of
your dog's manners and training is not a competition and does not require
that you and your dog perform with precision. Purebred and Mixed dogs are welcome.
We urge all dog owners with their dogs to participate in this program and receive CGC certification, thereby helping to assure that our beloved dogs will always be welcomed in the community. |
