Open to dogs older than 6 months or having completed Puppy K

For the pet owner who wants a well trained companion at home, in the park, or at the veterinarian’s office. Class work involves teaching you to teach your dog… in the Presence of Distractions to:

Walk on a loose leash without pulling

Come when called

Sit, Down, and Stand

Off

Wait and Stay

Instruction Includes:

Teaching Take It and Leave It

Using hand signals as well as verbal cues

Correcting problem behaviors, like: Jumping Up; Barking; Running Away; Biting; Chewing, and Mouthing

Special Emphasis is placed on:

Building a strong relationship with your dog

Creating a well-behaved, social pet

Teaching your dog to focus on and be attentive to you

Beginner Obedience classes are 6 Weeks long, 1 Class Per Week.

The first class evening only of each 6-week session is an “Orientation” without dogs, which begins at 6:30 pm and lasts for about 2 hours.

Orientation evenings begin at 6:30 pm to allow our daycare staff time to set up chairs and prepare the room for your first evening of class.

The other 5 class times will begin at 7:30 pm and will last 1 hour.
